I can't find a brightness setting in X Server settings, either. The keyboard command seems to work, as the video overlay shows the brightness slider going up and down, but brightness stays at eye-melting max. Only rather big shortcoming is that now I can't change the brightness of the display. Thank you! I can even set up 120hz in X server, and seems to work!įor future reference, where do I find supported kernels for Mint? I got the other kernels from Ubuntu's kernel repository. V: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 470.86 direct render: Yes OpenGL: renderer: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 Unloaded: fbdev, modesetting, nouveau, vesa tty: N/A If you want to switch to rendering in On-Demand mode (either Intel or Nvidia) or Nvidia Performance mode (Nvidia only), change the mode of the icon and then reboot the computer.ĭevice-1: NVIDIA vendor: Razer USA driver: nvidia v: 470.86ĭisplay: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.13 driver: nvidia Take a look at the nvidia-prime-applet in your panel and I expect it will be an Intel icon. The output you provided seems to indicate your system is currently in Intel-Powersave mode. The reason you are not getting a message about lack of video acceleration is because the Intel GPU is providing hardware acceleration. Which suggests that GPU is still not in use, as it's referring the renderer as Intel, not nVidia.
